Placer One Development
School Plans and Boundary Updates
This webpage will be updated as new information becomes available, including adjusted maps, timelines, and future school planning updates related to the Placer One development.
The Roseville City School District (RCSD) is planning for a future TK-8 school within the Placer One development.
As the Placer One development continues to grow, the District is establishing school boundary assignments to serve students in the years leading up to the opening of the future school. For the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years, students living in the Placer One development will be assigned to Diamond Creek Elementary School and Cooley Middle School.
- Beginning in the 2027-28 school year, RCSD is in the process of modifying boundaries for students who live in Placer One until the new TK-8 school is built. Under the proposed changes:
- Most elementary students who live east of Fiddyment Road would attend Jefferson Elementary School (see elementary map below)
- All other elementary students in Placer One would continue to attend Diamond Creek Elementary School (see elementary map below)
- All middle school students in Placer One would attend Buljan Middle School (see middle school map below)
These assignments would remain in place until the future Placer One TK-8 school opens.

- Students who live in Placer One east of Fiddyment Road would attend Jefferson Elementary School

Why are boundary changes being proposed before the Placer One school opens?
As our District continues to grow on the west end of the boundaries, we must make school boundary decisions that balance enrollment, facility capacity, and long-term planning for future schools. These proposed assignments are intended to serve students living in Placer One until the new TK-8 school opens.
Will the Placer One boundary assignments change again once the new school opens?
Yes. Once the future Placer One TK-8 school opens, students residing in the development west of Fiddyment Road are expected to transition to that new school based on the final approved boundaries in place at that time.
When will the proposed 2027-28 boundary changes be finalized?
The proposed changes are currently under review as part of the District’s boundary modification process. It is anticipated that action will be taken during the May 21st Board of Education meeting. Additional information, including maps and any related updates, will be shared with families and the community as that work progresses.
What if my child is already attending another RCSD school?
Current families that reside in the proposed boundary adjusted areas are welcome to complete their elementary school years at their current school upon submitting an Intra-District application during registration. Incoming siblings may be approved to attend their siblings’ currently enrolled school and to finish elementary school years. Please note: siblings must be attending concurrently.
What if I want to apply for a transfer to another RCSD school?
Students who reside inside the Roseville City School District Boundaries and desire to attend a school outside of their resident home school boundaries can apply for an intra-district transfer for a specific set of reasons. Transportation of the student is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Please note, the following schools are closed to intra-district transfer students for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school year:
