State Testing

Roseville City School District
Overview

California Assessment of Student Performance & Progress
(CAASPP)

Each spring, students in grades 3 – 8, take the CAASPP test. The CAASPP Program looks at how well schools and students are performing.

Students take tests in:

  • Math, in Grades 3 – 8
  • Reading, in Grades 3 – 8
  • Science, in Grades 5, 8

The CAASPP Program includes four tests: the Smarter Balance Math & Reading Test, the CST Science Test, the California Alternate Assessment, and the Standards-based Tests in Spanish.

Teachers and parents can use test results to identify a student’s strengths and areas for improvement.  Individual students reports (ISR) will be mailed home annually, once the district receives the reports from the state.
