Our goal is to increase inclusion opportunities for children with
disabilities and to have typical peers serve as appropriate
models in our special day class preschool classes. We are looking
for peers who are 3 and 4 years old not yet TK eligible
with the following characteristics:
- Strong language and social skills
- Age-appropriate self-help skills
- Initiates play and conversation with other children
- Follows the classroom routine with minimal prompting

Learning Foundations
RCSD Preschool special day classes are preschool classes for
children with mild/moderate special education needs. The class is
taught by a credentialed early childhood special education
teacher. The student-to-staff ratio is approximately 5:1. The
class utilizes the Frog Street Curriculum, which is also used in
our transitional kindergarten class, and focuses on the
following skills:
- Communication Development
- Language & Literacy
- Academic Readiness Skills
- Fine and Gross Motor Development
- Self-Help Skills,
- Self-Regulatory and Sensory Motor Skills
- Attending Skills
- Social Emotional Skills

Preschools
Monthly Fees:
- $150 monthly – 3 year old, Tuesday/Thursday (2
days/week)
- $300 monthly – 4 year old, Tuesday through Friday (4
days/week)
