A little About Me

Hi there! I am Ashley Rue.  I teach First Grade here at Blue Oaks School.  I have taught in the Roseville City School District for 8 years, seven of which have been at Blue Oaks in first grade.  We The Elephant Class are on a First Grade Safari!  Reading “Good Fit Books” from our extensive classroom and school library help us to build life long readers! 

It is my belief that every child deserves a nurturing learning environment with clear expectations and high standards.  I want all students to feel cherished and supported as they strive to be their best!  

On a personal note, I grew up in the area and have a wonderful husband (from Nebraska) who owns his own business in Roseville.  We have one daughter, Analise, who attends first grade at Blue Oaks.  We also have two boys, Ethan who is 4 years old and Aiden who is 3 months old.

One of my hobbies includes directing/producing the School Musical. This will be my 6th consecutive year!  I have been privileged to work with some amazingly talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.  Each year we have over 100 participants, and practice from October-March.  The final performances at Roseville High School keep me coming back the every year.  With the support of our Blue Oaks families, teachers/staff, and community the shows are always sold out!
